Entirely charming read! I'm a new fan of this writer. She writes with a deft hand, weaving a story full of adventure, pathos, and romance; a hero with drop-dead gorgeous looks and a protective, loving heart; and a heroine that is both gutsy and gracious.
This was an excellent book! Caroline Clemmons does not disappoint! This is the story of mail order bride Amanda and her husband Preston. There is love between them but Amanda has a secret that could bring danger to her new family. Very well written. You will not be disappointed!
Enjoyed reading this book, light reading. The people seem to come to life as you read. The author kept it enjoyable. It gave you a look at what happened out West, how the men found away to bring woman for wives.
Another great story with lots of good characters, Preston and Amanda and little Iris being my favorites. I especially liked reading about the way people lived. It was interesting how the well for was dug first, then the house was built over it so the water wouldn't freeze in the winter.
A beautiful story of second chances, unexpected family and the dangers of the west. Mara has to become Amanda in order to protect herself and her niece. She marries Preston and together they form a family that is threatened by Maras past.
What a fabulous story! It begins with Mara's story and then, by a strange twist of fate, becomes Amanda's story. Iris is a delightful child. She is the child everyone wants. Preston and Papa create an ideal life for Amanda and Iris. Then Mara's past catches up with her and it ends with a showdown and a gun battle. Caroline Clemmons know how to weave a story that holds your interest from beginning to end. I read this book in one sitting! Am looking forward to her next book!
When i first started reading this book i thought that it was going to go a different route than it did. The way that it turned out was fantastic. Loved the characters and i would like to have more stories about Vern and Ben, they need their own books. Thank you for writing such a great story about Ranching and Farming.
