Conceal The Barker Triplets Volume 3 Juliana Stone 9781495240423 Books

CONCEAL is the third and final installment in Juliana Stone's contemporary New Adult series The Barker Triplets based on the lives and loves of three identical sisters Billie-Jo, Bobbi-Jo and Betty-Jo Barker. This is Betty-Jo and Beau Simon's storyline. Betty-Jo has been one of the most unlikable characters in this particular series but like all storylines there were obviously some issues with this character and her relationship with her sisters.

Betty-Jo is a burned-out, has been cover model who fell into a life of drugs and alcohol. When she was finally `kicked' out of the business, Betty-Jo returned home to a small town mentality where she became known as the local whore, slut and junkie. Although she tried desperately to straighten out her life, a pattern of drinking and sex with one night stands exacerbated the situation. But like every story there is a history - a history that set the stage for Betty-Jo's life. Drinking and drugs were not the answer, but the love and support of a good man and family would have done miracles for Betty-Jo.

The storyline focuses on Betty-Jo and Beau's history together-a past mired in betrayal and pain. When Beau arrives in small town Michigan to offer Betty-Jo the lead in his latest movie, Betty-Jo suspects there is more to the offer than meets the eye. And she is correct. Beau has never forgotten Betty-Jo and blames himself for part of Betty-Jo's failure.

The relationship cannot be described as a second-chance or even friends to lovers, as Beau used Betty-Jo in the past. Their history is not pretty and one Betty-Jo considers a form of betrayal. But the truth about Betty-Jo's descent into alcohol and drug abuse will open a few eyes, especially for the family that has treated Betty-Jo like a leper and loser. Knowing what happened on that fateful night so many years before will bring the sisters closer together and tug at your heart knowing what Betty-Jo has had to endure for years.

CONCEAL is an emotional storyline of one woman's struggle with alcohol and drugs but it is also a storyline of family and forgiveness. Betty-Jo's low self esteem is masked by revealing clothes and make-up as well as an attitude that would frighten most people. Where once stood a beautiful cover girl model now stands a broken woman with demons that continue to haunt her every waking day.

With Conceal, The Barker Triplets saga comes to an end, but Juliana Stone will continue the storylines with Beau Simon's three brothers (Tucker, Jack and Teague) and his sister Grace. Two of the brothers are introduced in Conceal but the entire family is referenced through out.

Conceal The Barker Triplets Volume 3 Juliana Stone 9781495240423 Books Reviews

I got Ms stones first book along time ago because it was free and it was in my library forever. I was waiting for anyone of my favorite authors to write a new book so I could read them. But there were no new books out from my favorites so I chose to read the first Barker triplets book Offside. Billie Jo's story it was a great read. So I had to read Bobbi Jo's story (well because I loved Shane in offsides well and Bobbi Jo too) Collide. Then of course I had to read Conceal because I needed to know how Ms Stone was gonna make Betty Jo human, likable and interesting. She did it. This book was beautifully written there was every emotion that I loved In this book. Ms Stone is now one of my favorite authoress I am also waiting for Matts story. You can't just not have no happily ever after for Matt Ms Stone
It didn't last long enough! this is the last of the series of the Barker triplets, Betty Jo has always been the most self indulgent of the three girls. She doesn't like her sisters and they don't like her, but like most twins or triplets, the girls do love each other, they just don't like each other. Betty Jo has to figure it out how to let herself love and be loved. She's been foot loose and fancy free and a screw you attitude if you didn't like her. She finds reasons in this book to alter her lifestyle and come into the real world. The world that involves her ailing father, a fabulous grandfather and her very loving sisters who would die for her. I loved the entire series, there is humor, sex and realization in this series. The author does a wonderful job blending the books together. I don't usually keep books once I read them, but this series is certainly a keeper for me.
This is a great series. Just when I thought this book is better than the other, the next book was better!! What I loved about the series is that the books are all stand alone, however, each book was a build up to the story of the next 'twin' (haha). Although throughout the series Betty Jo seemed to be the black sheep, the story behind her troubled life was so sad. The fact that the incident defined who she was for so many years with only the support of Matt had to be difficult on so many levels. Although that was Betty's choice it was realistically written in good taste. The books are light but very well written with good character build up. I like it when I feel I know the characters and become endeared to them.

I can't wait to read Tucker's story but I wish there was one more book the the Barker series - Matt Hawkins - that has great story written all over it. Please consider giving us Matt's story I'm sure most of us want a HEA for him as well, and a baby for Bobby Jo and Shane - just saying....
I love The Barker Triplets series! I read the first two and really enjoyed them and this one was no exception. I was unclear as to how the author was going to redeem Betty Jo in my eyes because she was pretty damn unlikeable in the first two books, but I have to say, she did it. While I didn't end up loving Betty Jo, after reading this book I can honestly say that I understand why she was the way she was and ended up at least liking her.
As with the first two, the hero in Conceal, was smoking hot. Seriously. After Logan I thought, she cannot top him, but she did. With Shane. And after Shane I thought, no way can she top super sexy, bad boy Shane, but again she managed to do just that with Beau. He melted my heart =)
There was the expected super strong chemistry between the Hero and Heroine here and some majorly hot sexy-time too =).
Loved getting to see the rest of the Barkers again as well. Am wondering and seriously hoping that the author continues with this series. I NEED a story about Matt!!! This was a really great book. I highly recommend this series.
